GENERAL CONTEXT

MAIN PURPOSE 

The Learning & Field Training Officer contributes to strengthening the operational capacity of Log & Supply staff through the implementation and facilitation of learning and development initiatives. The position focuses on delivering field-based learning activities, facilitating training programmes, supporting operational capacity-building efforts and contributing to the development of competent and autonomous Log & Supply professionals. 

 

JOB OVERVIEW 

The Learning & Field Training Officer serves as a bridge between operational realities and learning initiatives, ensuring that capacity-building activities are practical, field-oriented and closely aligned with the development needs of Log & Supply staff and missions. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS   

1. Field Log Training (FLT) 

  • Participate in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of FLT interventions. 
  • Facilitate learning activities and workshops during FLT deployments. 
  • Support learning needs identification and participant action plans. 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring support. 

2. Applied Security, Simulations and Operational Preparedness 

  • Facilitate or co-facilitate Applied Security training (ASCFL) activities. 
  • Coordinate, facilitate or co-facilitate Field Applied Security Training- Design, adapt and facilitate operational simulations. 
  • Support Training of Trainers initiatives. 
  • Contribute to operational preparedness and risk management learning activities. 
  • Co-facilitate log  security ppd   

3. Logistics Technical Training (LTT) 

  • Support implementation and delivery of the LTT programme. 
  • Facilitate selected modules according to expertise. 
  • Support participant follow-up and programme improvement. 

4. Operational Capacity Building 

  • Support onboarding and development initiatives. 
  • Facilitate workshops, communities of practice and knowledge-sharing activities. 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring support. 

5. Learning Quality and Continuous Improvement 

  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of learning activities. 
  • Collect lessons learned and participant feedback. 
  • Promote learner-centred and participatory learning approaches. 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA 

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Humanitarian Affairs, Adult Learning, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain or operational support functions, preferably in humanitarian settings. 
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating operational training, particularly Applied Security training, operational simulations, coaching and/or Training of Trainers (ToT). 
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required. French is highly desirable. Knowledge of Arabic and/or Spanish will be considered an asset. 
  • Experience working in humanitarian organizations. Previous MSF field experience will be considered a strong asset. 
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments. 
  • Adaptability, autonomy, collaboration, and commitment to MSF's principles and values. 

 

CONDITIONS 

  • Position based in any MSF-OCBA Hub: Amman, Bogotá, Dakar, Nairobi, Barcelona, Sevilla, Bilbao or Madrid.   
    • Final location will be subject to the employability of the preselected candidate (e.g., residency, work permit, etc.) 
  • Contract duration:  permanent contract.  
  • For level HQ-3A positions and if the role is based in one of our offices in Spain, the salary will be at €37,346.55. If the role is finally located at one of the OCBA regional hubs, compensation will be subject to the local pay scale applicable to that hub. 
  • Full-time position.
