GENERAL CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian action-driven organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. The MSF movement is built around six operational directorates supported by MSF’s 21 sections, 24 associations and other offices together worldwide.

 

MAIN PURPOSE

The Digital Officer plays a key role in MSF OCBA’s Digital Unit, driving multi-channel lead generation and conversion optimization. Positioned between Communications and Fundraising, the role focuses on creating compelling content, designing automated journeys, and leveraging data-driven insights to maximize donor acquisition and retention. It requires strong collaboration with internal teams and agencies, creativity in campaign development, and analytical skills to monitor performance and continuously improve results.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS

  • Propose a plan and implement multi-channel lead generation campaigns (social, search, display, video, native, mobile) to attract qualified leads and maximize ROI.
  • Develop and optimize automated user journeys (welcome, nurturing, upgrade, retention) using Marketing Cloud and other tools to improve donor conversion and retention.
  • Create compelling content for ads, emails, landing pages, and chatbots, ensuring alignment with MSF’s DEI policy and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with agencies and internal teams to define value propositions, campaign messages, and integrated marketing calendars for fundraising goals.
  • Analyze audience data and KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and execute testing plans (A/B, multivariate) to optimize performance and conversion rates.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and best practices in data management, email marketing, and marketing automation processes.
  • Monitor and report on lead volume, quality, and conversion metrics, creating dashboards and actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Benchmark performance against industry standards and implement learnings to enhance revenue, engagement, and acquisition outcomes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Email Marketing, Telemarketing, WhatsApp) to ensure journeys and campaigns are integrated and effective.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing by participating in international meetings, documenting best practices, and supporting innovation in digital fundraising strategies.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Degree in Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle campaigns, and marketing automation (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred).
  • Knowledge of Digital marketing, data analytics, HTML and GDPR compliance.
  • Excellent level of Spanish, and good English communication skills are required. Other languages will be considered an asset.

 

CONDITIONS

  • Position based in any MSF Spain office: Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, or Sevilla. Final location will be subject to the employability of the preselected candidate (e.g., residency, work permit, etc.) and available office space.
  • Duration of position: Permanent.
  • Full-time position.
  • Annual gross salary: 36,258€ (HQ - 3A) + secondary benefits based on MSF OCBA Reward Policy. Subjected to local conditions.
  • Starting date: February 2026.
