Do your skills and experience not precisely match the requirements? MSF-OCBA is an organization committed to promoting diversity and equity by providing equal access to professional opportunities. We understand that women, people of colour, indigenous individuals, members of the LGTBI+ community, and other underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply for employment if they don't meet all the requirements. At MSF-OCBA, we strive to create a diverse, inclusive, and genuine workplace. Therefore, if you're interested in this position but your experience doesn't align perfectly with the selection criteria, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might be the ideal candidate for this or other positions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

At Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), fundraising enables our medical humanitarian work around the world. Every donor we recruit helps ensure MSF can respond rapidly and independently to emergencies wherever they occur.

We're looking for a highly organised, analytical and proactive Donor Acquisition Officer to own the day-to-day management and continuous development of MSF Portugal's offline donor acquisition programme.
Reporting to the Mass Donations Manager, you will be responsible for designing, managing and optimising donor acquisition campaigns across a portfolio of offline fundraising channels, including Face-to-Face, Telemarketing, Direct Mail, DRTV and future acquisition initiatives.

Working within the strategic direction defined by the Mass Donations Manager, you will take ownership of programme planning, campaign development, supplier management, performance optimisation and operational delivery, proactively identifying opportunities to improve donor recruitment, acquisition quality, return on investment and long-term value.

This role combines campaign management, project management, supplier management and data-driven decision making. Working closely with Communications, Fundraising Systems & Analytics, Finance and external partners, you will help grow MSF Portugal's supporter base while continuously improving programme performance.

Previous fundraising experience is welcome but is not essential. Many of the skills required for this role are directly transferable from marketing, customer acquisition, CRM, performance marketing, retail, telecommunications, financial services and other performance-driven environments.

HOW WE WORK

Fundraising at MSF is a professional, fast-paced environment. Although our purpose is humanitarian, we operate with the same level of professionalism, accountability and performance focus found in high-performing commercial organisations.

We make decisions based on evidence rather than assumptions. We continuously monitor results, analyse donor behaviour, test new approaches and use evidence—not assumptions—to improve performance.

Success in this role comes from curiosity, ownership, analytical thinking and a genuine desire to continuously improve outcomes. Every improvement you make strengthens the relationship between MSF and our supporters, ultimately enabling us to provide medical assistance to more people in crisis.
