GENERAL CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization, that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. JOB GENERAL OBJECTIVE
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Fundraising Assistant to provide essential operational support to the Fundraising Team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth execution of key tasks that enhance the team’s operational efficiency.
By efficiently handling these responsibilities, you will help maximize the organization’s impact. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, meticulous, and committed to MSF’s values, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for making a difference.
Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, the Fundraising Assistant will work within the fundraising team, providing support across administrative areas.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES, FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Fundraising Team.
- Support donor and supporter care across multiple channels (e.g., email, social media, mail), in a timely manner adhering to MSF’s policies and standards.
- Accurately update and maintain donor records in the CRM system, following established procedures.
- Compile standard reports and summaries based on well-defined guidelines.
- Support adherence to data protection regulations, such as GDPR, by following provided instructions.
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by courses in marketing and/or sales.
- Experience of working in a fundraising or sales/customer facing role, is a plus.
- Experience of using a fundraising or CRM database, is desirable.
- Supporter-focused mindset with a strong dedication to donor care and service quality.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging to different audiences and platforms.
- High attention to detail.
- Results and quality-oriented, ensuring work is completed to high standards within deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to different contexts and handle a variety of tasks with flexibility.
- Positive attitude and resilience, capable of working under pressure while maintaining a professional conduct.

- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and collaborative tools (e.g., Trello).
- Familiarity with different digital tools (e.g., social media community management, etc.) or a willingness to learn.
- Native or advanced proficiency in Portuguese and English.

CONDITIONS
- Position based in Lisbon, Portugal.
- Contract: Permanent Position (Candidates must meet legal conditions to be immediately hired in Portugal).
- Full time job. 40 hours per week+ Hybrid Teleworking Policy.
- Annual gross salary (Level 5): € 21,780.00 + secondary benefits based on MSF Portugal Reward Policy.
- Starting: Beginning of April 2025.
