GENERAL CONTEXT 
Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization, which helps populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

The MSF movement is built around six operational directorates supported by MSF’s 21 sections, 24 associations, and other offices worldwide. MSF OCBA is one of those directorates. The operations are implemented by field teams and the mission coordination teams; together with the organizational units based in Barcelona, Athens and decentralized in Nairobi, Dakar and Amman. The field operations are guided and supported by 5 Operational Cells, the Emergency Unit and other departments supporting operations, including Projects & IT. 

 

GENERAL OBJECTIVE 

  • Experienced functional expert with IT background, specialized in aligning technology solutions with business needs based on strategic objectives of Fundraising & Projects & IT departments. Working closely with partner teams in the Fundraising Department, s/he:
  • Is a skilled professional in translating stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications. 
  • Is able to identify opportunities for both business and IT process and needs improvements. 
  • Has a proven ability to act as a facilitator between technical and non-technical teams, always promoting seamless communication and collaborative problem-solving. 

 

The IT Business Analyst will work within the Applications Unit in Projects & IT Office, and s/he will be hierarchically and functionally accountable to the Fundraising Evolution Applications Manager.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Obtain a deep understanding of MSF Spain Fundraising operations, their processes and the way they are automated through digital solutions, to be able to recommend solutions and build high-quality requirements to implement in technology.
  • Solution designer: identify, design and support implementation of new functionalities to create value by improving existing solutions or developing new ones. New solutions may include innovation and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Business Process Analysis: map and document current business processes, identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities and propose solutions. Apply same analysis in the gathering of new needs coming from stakeholders. 
  • Data analysis: collect, analyze and design optimization of data models and standards, databases and information flow processes within fundraising applications ecosystem, to enhance operational effectiveness and data quality.
  • Together with the Fundraising Applications Evolutions Manager drive the continuous improvement and evolution of MSF’s fundraising applications ecosystem, applying a strategic approach when planning the evolution roadmap of initiatives. This roadmap will be aligned to the prioritization decided by governance models in place, that will follow a long-term value and alignment to strategic goals across main stakeholders.
  • Document and translate stakeholder needs into clear, detailed functional requirements. Apply best practices in process documentation and application usage to ensure clarity and consistency across teams.
  • Assure alignment of new functionalities and solutions to existing and new policies and protocols across Projects & IT and organization, such as Architecture, Information Security and GDPR.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with fundraising and IT teams to align objectives and strategies, ensuring successful implementation of proposed solutions. 
  • Help resolve competing priorities by facilitating stakeholder discussions, and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Risk Analysis: analyze risks involved in the assessment of new solutions or changes to existing ones.
  • Agile Project Management: Apply agile methodologies to manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and adaptability to changing requirements. 
  • Reporting: create artifacts as needed, including business case documentation, scope documentation, process flows, reports, dashboards and presentations to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.
  • Impact Analysis: Assess the performance of implemented initiatives, using key metrics to measure effectiveness and propose adjustments as needed. 
  • Keep up to date on latest technologies and applications through trainings, research and development.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA  

 

Education and expertise 

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or similar. 
  • 3 years experience as business analysis, project management (IT, Digital Transformation, etc.), architecture, data analysis or technician positions.
  • Fluent in Spanish, English level intermediate.

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Process and functional Analysis & Documentation (IT, Data, Architecture, IA projects): Proficient in mapping and analyzing workflows, problem solving, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing effective solutions. Experience in fundraising business processes will be an asset. Experience with process mapping tools such as GetMind, LucidChart will be an asset. 
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Salesforce, Zapier.
  • Data Management: Expertise in managing relational databases, with a focus on SOQL, SQL, and integration platforms like Talend.  
  • System Integration: Knowledgeable in connecting applications through APIs, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.  
  • Automation: Experience in implementing automation solutions using tools like Zapier to optimize repetitive tasks will be a plus. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Software development life cycle.  
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud (desirable).  

 

Functional & Project Management Skills: 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled in working with diverse teams to align objectives and strategies. 
  • Communication and Change Management: Ability to lead the implementation of process changes, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption by teams. 
  • Clear Documentation: Ability to create detailed and understandable documentation, ensuring all team members have access to up-to-date information. Experience with tools such as GitHub, Visio, etc.  
  • Agile Project Management: Familiarity with agile methodologies, applying principles like Scrum or Kanban for efficient project management. 
  • Experience with PM tools such as Project, Trello, Planner, etc.  
     

 

CONDITIONS 

  • Location based in any MSF Spain office: Barcelona and Madrid. Bilbao, Sevilla and Valencia are sibjected to capacity. 
  • Full time job. 
  • Contract Permanent. Minimum commitment with the position of 3 years 
  • Annual gross salary: HQ-3B – 39.939€ (divided into twelve monthly payments) + Secondary Benefits based on the MSF-OCBA Reward Policy. 
  • Starting date: Immediately.
