GENERAL CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

MAIN PURPOSE
Support the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of medical learning solutions across MSF OCBA, contributing to strengthening the competencies of medical staff in the field and improving quality of care in humanitarian settings.
JOB OVERVIEW
- The Medical Learning Officer contributes to the development of learner-centred medical training solutions, including face-to-face, blended and digital formats.
- The role translates technical medical knowledge into practical learning tools, coordinates learning projects, supports training delivery, and ensures alignment with operational priorities and medical guidelines.
- The position works closely with technical referents, the Learning Unit and TEMBO teams to ensure relevant, accessible and high-quality learning solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS
- Support the analyze learning needs and target audiences in collaboration with technical referents to ensure relevance of learning solutions.
- Design and develop learner-centred medical training materials applying adult learning and instructional design principles.
- Coordinate learning projects from needs analysis through development, validation, deployment and evaluation.
- Ensure alignment of all learning content with current medical guidelines and organisational standards.
- Facilitate and support the delivery of training activities (online and face-to-face) to ensure effective learning experiences.
- Manage medical learning resources and contribute to the development of learning pathways and communities of practice.
- Support simulation-based learning activities and integration into training programmes.
- Administer digital learning platforms (Tembo/Totara), ensuring quality, accessibility and user support.
ROLE’S SPECIFIC ELEMENTS

- Involvement in digital learning transformation (LMS, e-learning, blended learning)
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Medical degree, Nursing or Midwifery diploma is required. Additional training in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Medical Education or Global Health will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of field experience with MSF or in similar humanitarian or low-resource contexts.
- Candidates without MSF experience will be considered if they demonstrate solid experience in instructional design, adult learning and training delivery within healthcare, humanitarian or international organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in learning design, training delivery, instructional design, and the development of learning materials for adult learners.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning methodologies, instructional design principles, and digital learning platforms (LMS), preferably Tembo or Totara.
- Experience coordinating learning projects and working with multiple stakeholders in multicultural or humanitarian environments.
- Knowledge of medical guidelines and humanitarian health contexts is required.
- Fluency in English and French is required. Spanish, Arabic and/or Portuguese will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience supporting capacity-building initiatives, blended learning programmes or digital learning projects will be considered an asset.
CONDITIONS
- Position based in any MSF-OCBA Hub: Amman, Bogotá, Dakar, Nairobi, Barcelona, Sevilla, Bilbao or Madrid.
- Final location will be subject to the employability of the preselected candidate (e.g., residency, work permit, etc.)
- Full-time position.
- For level HQ-3A positions and if the role is based in one of our offices in Spain, the salary will be at € 37,346.55. If the role is finally located at one of the OCBA regional hubs, compensation will be subject to the local pay scale applicable to that hub.
