GENERAL CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian action-driven organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. The MSF movement is built around six operational directorates supported by MSF’s 21 sections, 24 associations and other offices together worldwide.
MAIN PURPOSE
Responsible for instructional design production and implementation workflows for MSF Academy learning programmes on behalf of the Tembo Digital Learning Team. Ensure that MSF Academy projects progress smoothly through the Tembo production pipeline, with materials prepared, checked, tracked and delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
JOB OVERVIEW
This role sits within the Tembo Digital Learning Team but is fully dedicated to supporting MSF Academy learning programmes. The MSF Academy Officer leads the support of MSF Academy learning products, from translation preparation to final implementation in Totara, working closely with the MSF Academy team and Tembo specialists. The post holder ensures accurate tracking, version control and timely delivery across all Academy courses.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS
- Provide operational techno-pedagogical and instructional design support to SMEs (subject matter experts), including developing and presenting storyboards, participating in regular meetings,feedback loops and preparing materials required for the MSF Academy’s course development and design processes.
- Creates alignment between MSF Academy instructional design, and production of MSF Academy’s key eLearning projects within Tembo’s quality procedures and processes. The Officer would focus on supporting MSF Academy stakeholders (translators, proofreaders, SMEs, instructional designers) agree expectations and ensure they are met.
- Track and update all MSF Academy projects in the internal planning tool, monitoring progress, rescheduling activities when timelines shift and ensuring efficient reuse of existing materials across programmes.
- Conduct quality checks on translated and revised materials before production, confirming accuracy, completeness and readiness for integration.
- Conduct production processes by implementing learning assets across all formats (LMS, audio, video, image and text) in collaboration with relevant Tembo specialists.
- Selecting e-learning technology between Storyline, Rise & H5P goals (taking into account both pedagogical and technological matters).
- Manage communication and follow-up with external providers and the MSF Academy pedagogical team, ensuring timelines, expectations and deliverables are understood and met.
- Upload, configure and test Academy learning products in Totara, ensuring correct structure, functionality and accessibility, and supporting learning space management where needed.
- Coordinate the full translation and production workflow for MSF Academy learning programmes, including preparing source files, organising extractions and maintaining clear and accurate version control.
- Support MSF Academy with Content and Space Management, including reviews of naming, tagging and category management in line with Tembo frameworks.
- Maintain structured documentation and project files in SharePoint and other systems, ensuring all Academy materials are organised, up to date and aligned across projects.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
- Degree or vocational qualification in digital learning, instructional design or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Additional training in LMS implementation, project management tools, or digital learning tools.
Experience and knowledge
- Essential experience coordinating translation, production or digital learning workflows.
- Essential experience with instructional design tools such as Articulate 360 and content production process.
- Demonstrated experience of production tools such as Articulate and Rise.
- Experience implementing content into an LMS such as Totara is essential.
- Knowledge of digital learning formats and production steps is required.
- Experience working with external translators or content providers is desirable.
- Experience managing documentation and version control across multiple file types will be considered an asset.
- Experience within MSF or similar international organizations will be considered a plus.
- Strong organizational and file-management skills will be required.
- Fluency in English required. Working knowledge of Spanish, Arabic or French desirable and highly valued.
CONDITIONS
- Position based in any MSF-OCBA Hub: Amman, Bogotá, Dakar, Nairobi, Barcelona, Bilbao, Sevilla or Madrid. Final location will be subject to the employability of the preselected candidate (e.g., residency, work permit, etc.).
- Duration of position: Temporary position: Until December 2026.
- Full-time position.
- Annual gross salary: level HQ-3A (divided in 12 monthly payments) + secondary benefits based on MSF OCBA Reward Policy.
- Starting date: As soon as possible.
